Project Overview:

The Yangzhou State Guesthouse, a harmonious blend of historical significance and modern elegance, sought to revamp its spaces to reflect a minimalist aesthetic while enhancing functionality. The design approach focused on creating a seamless connection between the interior and the natural surroundings, emphasizing transparency and simplicity.

Designer's Profile:

Mr. Jianya Sun, a renowned Taiwanese interior designer, founded Shanghai Yayi Interior Design Co., Ltd. in 2009. His design philosophy centers on modern simplicity and elegant comfort, integrating architectural, landscape, and interior elements to craft harmonious living environments.

Challenges:

The primary challenge was selecting window and door systems that would maximize natural light and ventilation without compromising the building's aesthetic integrity. The goal was to find solutions that offered expansive views and enhanced the spatial experience.​

1  146 Ultra-slim Sliding Doors:

• Application Areas:  Ballrooms, Tea Rooms, and Other Public Spaces​
• Design Highlights: Featuring ultra-wide 3.6m openings with 21mm narrow frames, these doors provide unobstructed panoramic views. The double-track sliding system ensures smooth and silent operation, facilitating flexible space division. Low-emissivity coated glass enhances natural light intake while reducing UV exposure and balancing transparency with energy efficiency.​

2. 85 Series Narrow-Frame Casement Windows:

• Application Areas:  Guest Rooms and Lounges​ 
• Design Highlights:  The external casement design with 66mm slim profiles allows for 180° adjustable ventilation, optimizing airflow while preventing rain ingress. The concealed drainage system and multiple seals are tailored to the region's humid climate, embodying the poetic essence of "a window framing the delicate rain."​

3. 85 Series Narrow-Frame Tilt and Turn Windows:

• Application Areas: Bathrooms and Private Zones​
• Design Highlights: The tilt-and-turn mechanism offers secure ventilation and privacy. Integrated micro-ventilation features ensure continuous air circulation, enhancing indoor air quality and occupant comfort.​

4. Terrace Railing Series:

• Design Language: Utilizing vertical 12mm ultra-thin tempered glass combined with matte metal posts, the railings create a geometric aesthetic that complements the building's modern design. Hidden LED lighting along the railing tops casts a floating glow at night, enriching the architectural facade.

Project Outcomes:

• Aesthetic Enhancement: The integration of slim-profile systems contributed to a light and airy facade, aligning with the hotel's modern minimalist design.​
