To craft a home that not only honors the city's rich Ming and Qing dynasty heritage—its iconic waterways and classical gardens—but also embraces a refreshingly minimalist, contemporary ethos.
This wasn't about imitation. Inspired by Wang Shu's philosophy of architecture as a "cultural presence" and Tong Jun's garden tenets of "balanced density, graceful winding, and poetic vistas," the design sought to answer: "What kind of life is truly worth living?"
